• IPSec provides three main facilities

  • An authentication-only function,
    • Referred to as Authentication Header (AH)
  • Acombined authentication/ encryption function
    • Called Encapsulating Security Payload (ESP)
  • A key exchange function.
    • IKE (ISAKMP / Oakley)
