• An Entry contains a number of Attributes

• An Attribute consists of:

  • Attribute Type
  • Attribute Value

• An Attribute Type has an associated Attribute Syntax

• The Attribute Value has to conform to that syntax

• To compare Attribute there are Matching Rules
