CEENGINE keynote and panel in Tbilisi

CEENGINE project has organized a panel session and a keynote lecture during closing day of AICT 2012 conference on 19th October 2012.  conference. The conference is one of the major events bringing together researchers from Southern Caucasus and neighbouring countries.

The keynote lecture presented by Krasimir Simonski raised the issues related to expected financing problems for e-Infrastructures in transition period between FP7 and Horizon 2020. The lecture underlined the necessity for e-Infrastructures as the main component enabling local and international collaboration. GEANT concept as the communication commons (connectivity and research programme) have been discussed in detail, and CEENet role as the catalyser of e-Infrastructures and stimulator of research in the region (project helpdesk activities) has been underlined.

The panel that followed immediately the keynote lecture was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Sri Lanka and USA. The summary of the panel findings was given by Michal Przybylski, during following plenary session.
