Database

of telecommunication conditions

in CEE and FSU countries.

Project sponsored by Open Society Institute

Both CEENet and the OSI for the planning of their international activities need a database, describing the status telecommunication conditions in Central and Eastern Europe. A study of this kind is also of great importance for managers and designers of future networks, as well as for anyone who needs a tabular overview of a situation in a whole region.

Therefore CEENet, in a cooperation with numerous correspondents in every country, conducted a project, sponsored by the OSI, of creating a database of telecommunication conditions in Central and Eastern Europe and in FSU countries. The database will be regularly updated and used for various comparative studies. The usage and access to it is free of charge although we appreciate a notification of a way the data are used.

The database will consist of two parts. The first one is a general overview of basic telecommunication data (in tabular form with the possibility to look into the individual country's record), and the second one (in preparation) is a set of  more detailed comparative studies of various topics like eg. telecommunication laws or  DNS assignment policy.
Should you have any remarks about the contents of the database or you would like to help us in updating the information, please contact us database@ceenet.org.
